Fireworks

I didn't get down to the waterfall today, I have one more chance this month and two next month, so I should be able to do it. I did go out and take some shots of the fireworks from my back yard.

Geographical note, I was 1 kilometre (.60) miles) from the ball game in yesterday's photo.

The fireworks (these photos anyway) are held in the river valley which is 5.7 km away from my place and down quite a bit (I don't know how deep the river valley is - sorry).

The display started at 23.00 hrs and this first photo is only to show how light it still is outside.

This shot shows what a narrow view I had.

I still don't have a tripod, but the chain link fence was sort of a help.

By this time, I was getting the hang of using the fence to keep the camera steady....

and I was getting eaten alive by mosquitoes.

I didn't stick around for the grande finale, I have been feeling crappy all day and want to get this posted and to bed. I think I have had too much heat for this year. Today was cooler, but not by much and my suite is still recording 27 C.

I hope everyone has a good Wednesday.

Reb, you've got some wonderful pics there. Good work. Am I the only one who sees an alien face in the lower left of the second pic?

Sorry, that's the third pic with the face in it.

Wow, such amazing shots! I haven't tried photographing fireworks yet & I'm skeptical--I think I'll end up with colorful smudges!

The first shot is so pretty!...I also love the green squiggly one.

Very cool fireworks photos!

We've got some coming up in a few days, but I don't know if I'll try to take pictures. It takes two hands, and one has to hold the beer.

Sis - great photos! Thanks for staying up late to take them, and for posting them. These are the only fireworks the Bag Lady will see for Canada Day, 'cause she was too lazy to go to town, and there is a total fire ban on up here, so we couldn't have our own!
Did get my new flag put up to celebrate Canada Day, though!!!

Wonderful shots, Reb. Fireworks are not easy to capture. I'm not sure yet how mine turned out, but I suspect I'll be hitting the delete button for them.

Try as I may, I don't see Leah's alien.

Hope you're feeling better today.

Well be getting our fill of them this weekend.

Leah thanks. I didn't even notice him until you pointed it out! It looks like he is trying to eat the sparkles.

Thanks Jo. I just set it to the fireworks mode and tried to keep it steady. I like the green too.

Thanks Crabby. If you have a tripod, it will help a lot, then you have one hand free for the beer.

Sis, I really miss the location of mom & dad's house when it comes to fireworks! Glad you got a flag up though. Thanks.

Hilary thanks. I used the fireworks setting on the camera. A tripod would have made it easier though. The alien is in the smoke on the left. I am thanks.

Jay they are and you will.

Missicat, thanks. Good luck with yours, if you have a tripod, it will help.

Thanks Knight. Yes, I did.
