Photo Finish Friday

Ducks in Hawrelak Park.

I was just getting closer for a better shot and a kid on a bike came along the path they are beside. Such is photography, frankly, I'm surprised the geese didn't take after him.

Have a good weekend all.

My wife and I used to feed the ducks when we were in Louisiana. There was this big, aggressive white duck that was quite the terror to the others. I have some photos somewhere.

The foxtails in between the duckies in the first pic lend a wonderful wispiness to it and really direct the eye.
I wish the geese had gone after the kids. Geese are mean bastards when they're irked.

David, ducks and geese can be holy terrors.

Leah, thanks. Yeah, I was hoping the same thing.

Ducks are fun, geese are not so much fun. Kids on bikes away from roads built for them are just plain annoying -- and I mean my own kids, too.

The thing I admire about ducks and geese is their ability to ‘shake it off.’ After they get into a fight they each flutter their wings vigorously for a few seconds and then forget all about it. I’ve always wished that I could let go of things that easily.

Messymimi, I think the geese in the parks here are very accustomed to people, but I still wouldn't trust them.

Scott, yeah I know that feeling.

This reminds me of when my husband and older boys were feeding the swans. Those birds are so aggressive that the kids were terrified (and rightly so)!

Karen, I'm not sure which are worse for aggression, they are both big birds and I wouldn't want to anger either.

I'm scared of birds.

Oh no! Knight, that's too bad.
