Tying up loose ends.

This is what the office looks like now. Yep, a lot brighter than before, but I really like it.

Of course it doesn't really look like Honey anything, more lemon sherbet, but, after three coats, it is staying this way for awhile. (Yes, Sis, you will recognize the paintings. I figured if there was something decent up, maybe she wouldn't go too tacky.)

This flower popped up in my friends front flower bed (on the North side of her house). anybody have any guesses? We haven't got a clue what it could be, but it is very pretty.

We were walking around taking pictures for Tuesdays challenge and I snapped this and thought it turned out rather well. I should know what the red bush is, but can't think of it right now.

Further to my creepy neighbour. I remembered last night, that there had been a fellow not too long ago in one of the other bldgs that I had to let the cops into his suite. It turns out he wasn't the guy they wanted, but, while I was standing there, I noticed he had a chain (like the kind you attach children's stuffed toys too) hanging in his front closet. From this chain the man had hanging huge knives and a very large butcher's chopping blade. I found out later that he was in fact a butcher, but still, you use that kind of thing at work, and you leave your tools there.

I doubled checked this afternoon at work and it is the same fellow who is now my creepy neighbour! Needless to say, I will be ignoring & avoiding him, and treating him with kid gloves. Our maintenance man said he has been in the suite and there is nothing like that there now, but, on the other hand this guy would know when the maintenance man was coming in.

My friend and I are going tomorrow to buy a Shade Sail, they are on sale at a local chain outlet and I think I can afford it. The best part of that, is it can be put up right away.

I am being asked, very persistently to please go outside, so someone can eat some grass, so I guess that is it for today.

Good evening all.

Keep away from creepy butcher freak.

Mike suggested the pretty purple flower is something in the violet family.

Is the pretty red bush a royalty crab apple?

Leah, thanks, I knew I could count on you & Mike! Oh, I think you might be right about the red bush. As far away as I can!

I think you should be telling everyone you know and trust about Creepy Butcher Guy. :/

Lovely flower.. I was thinking a mini orchid of some sort.

Maybe you should be carrying some mace or pepper spray with you? Or a gun. LOL ;-)

I'm thinking the shade sail is a good idea - it will make it harder for him to spy on you.
And yes, tell lots of folks about your "admirer".
The knives scare the crap outta me!

Pretty flower, though...

Hilary, I am telling everyone! And I did a good job of evade and retreat this afternoon. Mike was right, it is a violet.

Jay, we have much stricter weapons laws up here, I am not even sure you can get mace! Up 'til now, I have never felt the need for anything more than my keys in my hand, but, I just might look into some Mace or something. I do have friends still doing police work.

Sis, yes, it scares me too. I will be turning the swing so I can get further under the canopy too.

holy carp, a row of knives?

Reb, if you can't have anything else, keep a spray bottle of cheap perfume handy. You could spray it toward him to buy some time. It's not really a weapon, and it's perfectly legit for a woman to be carrying perfume. Just a thought.
Your police friends are a great resource.

Oh, and I do like the paint job in the office, and that painting DOES look familiar!

I can send you a Bear Scare, if you'd like....'course, it would scare everyone within a 3-block radius, and probably deafen you...but it would probably stop an attacker in his tracks. (and if you 'aimed' it at him, could do grievous bodily harm!)

Gary, yeah, I know - scary eh?

Leah, good idea, or hairspray, more continuous spray and of course a cross shaped lighter. Oh wait, that was a movie. Yeah, too bad they are so far away.

Sis, I read up after I said that, and all pepper sprays are illegal here, classed as a restricted weapon. Sprays labeled "bear scare" and "dog scare" are legal, and the legality, if used on a person would be decided on a case by case basis.

I think here at the complex I am probably safe, I just have to worry if I am waiting for a bus or something.

I love your office! I really want to redo mine but explosives are illegal here.

Dianne, you make me laugh. Thanks! It is such an awkward space though.

Are any of those paintings your mother's work?

I love the red twiggy thing--it looks perfectly Asian, like something from a kimono or watercolor.

Creepy Guy just went from creepy to clown-with-fangs in my book. My advice to you is to trust your gut on everything, Reb, no minimizing of any alarming behavior...we tend to do that, and the tougher we are, the greater the tendency. Yuck, I'm sorry you have to even think about this.

Jo, yes,the reddish autumn scene with the stream in the second photo is one and the one on the left hand wall that you can't see very well in the first. These are some of her very early works. There is another, but I didn't get it in any of the photos I took.

Thanks, I like that one too. I was quite surprised how well it turned out.
