Photo credit: my friend who wants to be anonymous
My friend is going to Jasper this weekend for her birthday and I am a bit envious. This photo is from one of her previous trips to Jasper - it's on my computer because she asked me to compile a flash drive of photos of mine and hers for another friend that has never actually been to Jasper. (I find that very strange as it is only 4 hours away, but,
she is a bit of a princess apparently they usually only go to Banff.)
Inuksuk
Have a good weekend all.
PFF is the creation of my cousin Leah over at
The Goat's Lunch Pail.

I like the inukshuk! I have been thinking about building one, but not one as large as that. (Does that make my innate laziness obvious?)
Good pic. Where in Jasper is this?
I have seen many small towers of rocks (Gary has one in his yard and we have a bunch along a road here) but I have never seen an inukshuk. I had to google it... HOW VERY COOL!!
Also, as much as I love Banff and Lake Louise, why wouldn't someone want to go to Jasper? Beauty everywhere!
Sis, that is a very complicated inukshuk, most are much simpler.
Leah, she has it titled 'on river bank, bottom of steps' I will see if I can find out exactly where for you :)
Karen, I should have put in a link, sorry. They are very cool. Banff is more commercial and in some ppls minds higher class. I don't know why anyone wouldn't want to see both places either, but, I am glad that Jasper get fewer tourists ;)
Damn, I had the spelling wrong, good thing Karen reminded me (ever so gently) to put a link in for those that had never heard of them! Thanks Karen!
I love seeing those at the beach or in the woods!
Nice. Someday i hope to see one in person.
Janet, they are very cool.
Messymimi, you'll just have to visit up north ;)
Very cool, Reb.
My first thought on seeing the inuksuk was "a stone snowman!" Then I follow the link and discover that inuunguaq (sp?) are supposed to represent human figures and inuksuk not. So I need to read more. But I have LOTS of rocks here....
Mary Anne in Kentucky
I'd love to go there
rocks fascinate me with all their sizes and shapes and textures
Should I beware of Rock Monsters in Jasper?
Hilary, they are.
Mary Anne, your first thought was pretty close ;) I think you should make one.
Dianne, I think you would love Jasper and the Canadian Rockies.
David, I think you should be on the look out for them almost everywhere ;)
Nobody else think the face looks like Garfield?
Frank, you are right, it does!
That's a very cool stack of stones. Never knew that's what they are called so I've learned something new.
I'd love to visit Jasper and I'd love to visit Banff. Now that I have my passport, I'll just have to find the time!
