I've just traced my warm friendly feelings towards Canada not only to the fact that the father of one of my friends was from Montreal (she lives in TO now, having exercised her dual citizenship) but also that I grew up under (beside? not "in the roots of") an enormous sugar maple and I love maples (even though they're my worst pollen allergy) and therefore a country with a maple leaf on its flag must be a good place.
Hope it was a great Canada day! Your country is far more awesome than the pushy one just south of you--if it weren't for weather, I'd be trying to figure out how to be Canadian myself!

Hope your Canada Day was wonderful! We were busy moving cows around. Fun.
