Well, I finally managed to co-ordinate with my friends and get my computer to the shop today. It will take at least a week and 1/2 before they can even look at it to see what's wrong though. It could be worse, I could be completely devoid of internet, so I won't complain too much.
I will continue to post periodically and pop in where I can and comment. Keep your fingers crossed that this old baby still has the gumption to keep going.
Have a good day all.

Yes. And I'm sure your computer will hold up, too.
We can all wait until your computer is up and running again, though it's nice to hear from you.
Thanks Debra!
Leah, ppbbbblt (raspberry)! You read my mind - the computer is so slow, I might just lose my gumption.
Fingers are crossed that it will hold out for you.
(and Leah's comment totally cracked me up!! Wish I'd said that!)
Barbara, we posted about the same time. Thanks for being patient ;)
Sis, thanks. Me too, did I spell ppbbbbth right? lol
A week and a half sounds like an eternity to me, but then I have a bit of an internet addiction problem. Hope it's fixed soon!
10 days without a computer? AAAAACK!!
Hang in there!
And [knock knock] here's hoping that it comes back from the computer spa all fresh and ready to play with you again! ;)
I'd need Leah's self-hypnosis methods to get through ten days sans computer. Keeping my fingers crossed.
I am lighting a candle to appease the gods of microchip and mutha boards
Crabby, it is an eternity! Especially when this one is so slow.
Kcinnova, not totally without, at least I have the old one still.
Hilary, on the other hand, I am getting more done.
Dianne, thank you! I know your prayers will help ;)
