Wow, I really suck this week! I had such great ideas for this weeks words too! I was just lucky to have a few things around the house to be able to get something to show you all. As you have gathered the words are Sour & Salty.
SOUR:
I like sour candy, and these taste just like lemon meringue pie!
I wanted something sour one day and thought I would try these...yes, sour, not great though.
The Absolut best in Vodka - the lemon makes it a bit sour and you can make so many sour drinks with it.
The good old standbys of any kitchen, Lemon & Lime juice to sour up anything.
SALTY
Back near the middle of last week, when it got rainy, I made these salty pretzels.
This is my salt supply for when I make pretzels.
This is a very old photo from one of our visits to Nova Scotia. This is the salty ocean near Peggy's Cove.
Same trip, this is the salty ocean on a beach in NS. (Dad, cousin & me, Sis coming out of the ocean on the far right.) Yes, the date on the edge says '75! Oh! and Dad was an old salt too!
So, how many of you were around in '75?
This has been The Weekly Word Challenge, brought to you by Tink of Pickled Beef! See her if you would like to join in the fun.
If you would like to see more photos, drop by our group Flickr site. You can also drop by my Flickr site here.
Have a good day all.

Oh, I was 9 in 1975.
YOU MAKE PRETZELS? Me and some beers are coming right over!!!!
I LOVE ME SOME sour.
the vodka? never thought I much cared for.
the marriage of sour and vod? I think I may have to try.
Homemade pretzels! I'll swap you some sweets (white chocolate almond raspberry bars) for some of your salty goodies. :)
I didn't get a single picture this week. *Hangs head in shame*
Great photos, sis!
It was good to see Peggy's Cove pictures again! That was a great trip.
The pretzels look awesome!
Gary, they get better every time I make them too!
Oh Mizfit, you have to! Vodka & lemonade! (is all I can think of right now)
Tink, they are so easy to make - in a bread maker that is. The day is young yet!
Sis, thanks. Hey, we could take a trip there now without having to visit! They were very good.
Oh those pretzels look wonderful.
Hmm, not much of a drinker any more but that vodka sure looked good.
Those pretzels look fantastic. I have a breadmaker, dusty and underused, lurking in a closet somewhere. Maybe I should drag that thing out one rainy day.
Leah, thanks. My liquor cabinet these days consists of 4 mini bottles that have never been cracked and are so old they are half empty! I don't dare open them!
Britta, thanks. Yes, dig it out and use it!
I was 6.
Nicely done!! I have Sour drinks in mine as well. :)
I was two in 1975, thank you very much ;)
those are wonderful shots you got this week, no suck, no suck at all!
wonder if one of those pretzels could make it's way to Tennessee? ;)
I was 9 in 1975, but I can't recall where we went on vacation that year.
Your pretzels look DELICIOUS!
And your pictures don't suck, because I wish I could suck on one of those lemon candies! I like that shot. :)
Old salt! *snicker*
I was 7 in 1975.
I love sour lemon candies. I could eat them all day. Yummy!
Great job on the WWC.
MMmmm those sour lemon candies look so good!
My mother was 14 in 75 so I can't claim any part of the 70's. Damn!
Thanks G-man. I was actually going to make drinks, but...
FC, thanks! I think it might be a bit disgusting by the time it got there.
Thanks Kcinnova, they are really good candies.
Thanks Jay. My favorite kind too.
Knight, I am older than your Mom ...probably only by months though.
OMG so yummy!! Pretzels make my mouth water, but then all the lemons made me pucker up :))
Great pics!!
Thanks AJ, those pretzels were great!
Your pretzels look amazing! I love sour things...I use the citron vodka in lemon-drop martinis.
Your old photos always make me smile. I was 3 in '75.
Thanks Jo, I love salty & sour things.
Hell. And you live so far away....
Shucks! eh Gary!
Those pretzels look delish! And I was around in 1975...graduating from high school ;-)
Ahh wonderful shots. The pretzels make me drool and though I've never tried lemon vodka, I love Absolut Peach vodka with cranberry juice (with or without a bit of soda water or ginger ale). Great ideas as always, Reb. And I love the new header to your blog. :)
Thanks Janet, yeah, I had a couple of more years to go.
Hilary, thanks. You must try the Citron!
