MTM: Ice on Whyte

I may have mentioned that we have a lot of Festivals here in Edmonton. Well, they continue over the winter too - they have to, otherwise we would go crazy ;) One that I enjoy is the Ice On Whyte Festival. This year it was very international, with carvers from our sister city, Harbin, China. Other entries were from Russia, Armenia, The Netherlands, Alaska and of course Canada.

'Who will be the first to see the Sun'

'Surprise'

This was the dragon slide.

There were many snow carvings and more ice carvings, they had several kiddie slides and an ice maze for the youngsters. There was also hot chocolate and live music. I have uploaded more photos to my flickr account.

Have a great day all.

  7. Gorgeous, sis! (and much easier for these old eyes to see than on your camera display!)

  8. What a great way to spend a winter evening. If you can't be in a warm, cozy place, you might as well be enjoying some wonderful ice sculptures. They're so colourful with the lighting.

  11. A.K., they truly are amazing. There is so much detail that the camera (well mine) doesn't pick up.

  12. They're so interestingly lit, and you seem to have made the most of that; it must have been hard to shoot them at night.
