WWC: "K" & Metal

Wacky Weather Confounds this poster's Weekly Word Challenge!

Well, there is a good reason that we don't plant out bedding plants and such until after the Victoria day weekend, and this weekend has certainly been driving the point home. Yes folks we have cold and snow! Rain and frost warnings abound, and this afternoon, they are giving Edmonton and points north and west of here, heavy snowfall warnings. We could see up to 20 cms (8 inches) of it by Tuesday afternoon. In conjunction with this week's challenge, there is a word that ends in "K" that about sums it up!

This weeks photos are either lame, or from last summers archives. I think I managed to avoid to many repeats ;)

This statue of Sir Winston Churchill is probably made from bronze Metal. Located in a Square named after him.

These Metal girders and the crane are from steel I hope. This will be our new art gallery and should in fact be close to completion.

This is from a moving vehicle, of the Metal girders on the High Level Bridge while the waterfall is running.

These Metal sculptures are outside of the Royal Alberta Museum.

This is the hand sign for the letter "K" in American Sign Language, finger spelling.

I think I need more Ketchup

And finally, my KitchenWorks Kettle on my Kitchen counter.

That about wraps up this weeks challenge. If you would like to join in the fun, drop by and visit Tink at Pickled Beef. To see more, click on the logo on my side bar.

Have a good day all.

For someone with computer troubles, you sure do come through with shining (metal!) Kolors! ;)

We actually are looking at frost warnings here overnight. It seems so weird for the 2nd half of May!

  5. I can't believe you are still having snow up there! Your plant/flower growing season must be very, very short.

I enjoyed the sign language "k" of course the first thing I did was make it with my hand!

Great pics. The sign language "K" is a really brilliant idea.

  7. Kcinnova, thanks. It takes so long to do anything on this old computer.

Leah, it is definately time for the snow to be gone! Glad you liked the ASL.

Sis, we missed most of it. Sorry you didn't.

Thanks David! She does that very well. Used to make our brother spit his tea.

Emily it is and this is a strange year.

Jay, I really would like to! Glad you enjoyed.

  9. Okay I'll quit complaining about the rain here because it's not snow! The pictures were all good, but I like the empty ketchup bottle the best. Something about the close up of an every day item. Well played!

  10. Thanks G-man, did the desperation show?

Karen, thanks. I liked the way the little drop of moisture is hanging there.

  11. You did a sign language K! You ROCK. I thought about doing one too, but Hoop said no one would "get" it. I like those metal statues in Alberta and that first picture has a great angle. I hope your (and my) weather gets nicer for this week's photos.

  12. Thanks Tink. I figured I'd better explain it, or someone might think it was a gang sing ;) The weather is supposed to clear up here in the next few days. I'll cross my fingers for your too.
