Lazy Bones

Tuesday is the WWC and the challenge this week is the letter "T" and the phrase "Not What It Seems". I have some good shots in mind to cover them, but have been unable to get to the locations. Sadly I have many other things to be doing this week, so I will post them next week, giving you a double dose of WWC.

Take care all and have a good day.

WWC: "K" & Metal

Wacky Weather Confounds this poster's Weekly Word Challenge!

Well, there is a good reason that we don't plant out bedding plants and such until after the Victoria day weekend, and this weekend has certainly been driving the point home. Yes folks we have cold and snow! Rain and frost warnings abound, and this afternoon, they are giving Edmonton and points north and west of here, heavy snowfall warnings. We could see up to 20 cms (8 inches) of it by Tuesday afternoon. In conjunction with this week's challenge, there is a word that ends in "K" that about sums it up!

This weeks photos are either lame, or from last summers archives. I think I managed to avoid to many repeats ;)

This statue of Sir Winston Churchill is probably made from bronze Metal. Located in a Square named after him.

These Metal girders and the crane are from steel I hope. This will be our new art gallery and should in fact be close to completion.

This is from a moving vehicle, of the Metal girders on the High Level Bridge while the waterfall is running.

These Metal sculptures are outside of the Royal Alberta Museum.

This is the hand sign for the letter "K" in American Sign Language, finger spelling.

I think I need more Ketchup

And finally, my KitchenWorks Kettle on my Kitchen counter.

That about wraps up this weeks challenge. If you would like to join in the fun, drop by and visit Tink at Pickled Beef. To see more, click on the logo on my side bar.

Have a good day all.

Time is all it takes

Well, I finally managed to co-ordinate with my friends and get my computer to the shop today. It will take at least a week and 1/2 before they can even look at it to see what's wrong though. It could be worse, I could be completely devoid of internet, so I won't complain too much.

I will continue to post periodically and pop in where I can and comment. Keep your fingers crossed that this old baby still has the gumption to keep going.

Have a good day all.

WWC: Arch & Purple

Well, I am still stuttering along with the old computer. I found the receipt & it has one year warranty, now all I need is someone to drive me to the shop. I don't think strapping it to the back of my bike is a good idea, it would either fall off, or just the bouncing from the cracks and potholes would do more damage. Or I would fall off and hurt myself and the computer.

It is Tuesday however and time for the Weekly Word Challenge. This weeks words are Arch and (my favourite colour) Purple. Click on any to enlarge.

This is a pair of purple holographic earrings that are sparkly.

One of my (many) favourites of Mom's paintings has many overtones of purple.

My purple satin robe.

The Delta Inn has purple on it.

A very purple truck.

My arch, in purple.

This shot arched perfectly into the net.

Gracefully arching branches frame the setting sun.

A cute little arching bridge on this play set.

Some gracefully arched lights adorn this building and it's patio.

I hope you enjoyed today's submissions. If you would like to see more the master list is on my side bar. If you would like to join in the fun, visit our lovely hostess Tink @ Pickled Beef and she will set you on the path.

Have a good day all.

AArrgghh!

My new computer has crashed! Please cross your fingers that this old one will last until I can get it fixed! On the other hand - good thing I hadn't sold or cannibalized this one yet! I am just hoping the new one can be fixed without losing any of the photos taken over the last few months. Yes, you read that correctly - I haven't saved them anywhere but the computer, so I'll be screwed. Some I can retake, but, I had some wonderful shots of clouds from the other day that I did a good job on. Oh well.

The ironic thing - I found a job that I wanted to apply for and the next day, before looking for my resume, the horoscope said something about not planning any changes to your job today. I shouldn't have gone looking for my resume, that's when the computer crashed!

As this thing is slower than the second coming and not very reliable, I probably won't be visiting many blogs for the next while. The good thing, I am pretty sure the computer had a full year warranty.

Have a good day all.

WWC: Bokeh and Heart

This weeks words are Bokeh (description) and Heart. The WWC is brought to us by the lovely and talented Tink of Pickled Beef. If you would like to join in the fun, drop by and she will give you the scoop.

This is from the archives, but I managed to get some bokeh on these Bleeding Hearts before I even knew what bokeh was ;)

From a walk along the creek a couple of weeks ago, I managed to get some bokeh here.

The Heart of this fallen tree has all but disappeared.

The Heart of this more recently fallen tree is still full of vibrant colour.

After lots of searching, I finally found some heart shapes, one in amber from when I was about 14 and one that my dad made for my mom.

And this heart shaped jewellery box, that I have no clue where it came from, I know I have had it a long time though.

So, here is another week. I am still cleaning - yeah, I take forever to clean, but it has been nice out, so I have to admit to being outside more than inside.

Have a good day all.

What if?

If the world stopped spinning would be all get vertigo?

When it stopped spinning, would we all fall up & out like a fireworks, or would we just slide to the closest pole, then fall off? The equator would be warmer though.

Should I open the windows when using cleaning products or is it too late?

Have a good weekend all!
